Double Degree
Kobe Unviersity to Fudan University
GSICS
Ms. TANAKA Hinata
From August 2025 to June 2026, I studied at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan University, as a double-degree student. In the program, I took courses mainly in public policy and research methodology, focusing on developing my ability to analyze policy issues and policy effects from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.
During my study at Fudan, I devoted particular effort to writing my master’s thesis. Since it was my first thesis, I faced many challenges in research design, literature review, data analysis, and interpretation of results. However, with valuable advice from my supervisors and senior students, I continued revising and improving my thesis. As a result, I successfully passed three oral defenses and the blind review.
Balancing coursework and thesis writing within one year was not easy, but with the support of classmates, professors, and senior students, I was able to complete the program. Overall, this double-degree experience was extremely meaningful, as it helped me deepen my expertise in public policy and strengthen my research skills.
