GNP Hosted Global Network Seminar “Working at the World Bank Group”


On November 11, 2025, the Global Network Seminar was held, and the seminar welcomed Mr. Ryuichiro Higa, Human Resources Officer at the World Bank Group.

Under the theme “Working at the World Bank Group,” Mr. Higa shared insights into the World Bank Group’s initiatives, recruitment processes, and career development in international organizations, drawing on his extensive professional experience.

In his lecture, Mr. Higa introduced the World Bank Group’s organizational structure and activities, as well as its recruitment processes and various career opportunities. Drawing on his own experience, he also provided practical guidance on the skills and experience needed to build a career in the highly competitive field of international organizations. In addition, he discussed the World Bank Group’s human resource strategies and the key competencies sought in prospective candidates, offering practical insights into how students can develop and effectively present their expertise and professional experience when pursuing careers in international organizations.

A total of 54 students participated in the seminar. During the question-and-answer session, participants raised a wide range of questions about the application process, effective CV preparation, and potential career pathways at the World Bank Group and other international organizations. The seminar provided a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the World Bank Group’s recruitment processes and the competencies sought in prospective candidates, while also reflecting on the preparation and career pathways needed to pursue careers in international organizations.
