Short-term Study

Kobe University to National University of Laos

Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies

Ms. SU Yucheng

I participated in the Short-term Program in Laos for about a month. I had a very good experience during this time.
At first, we attended a week-long Advanced Development Economics course at the National University of Laos, where we met excellent professors, staff, and tutors. The tutors at NUOL were very warm-hearted. In the following two weeks, we had the chance to communicate with the Ministry of Education and Sports throughout the internship, and with the support of many people, we visited a series of international organizations such as UNICEF, ADB, the World Bank, and JICA. We also had meetings with various professionals working in Laos’s education sector, from whom we learned a lot. They generously shared their knowledge and perspectives with us, which helped us gain a deeper understanding of the current situation of economics and education in Laos.

I am truly grateful for the support and kindness I received throughout the program. My sincere thanks go to the professors and tutors at the National University of Laos, whose teaching and guidance made the learning experience both insightful and enjoyable. I also want to express my appreciation to the staff members from the Ministry of Education and Sports. Without their openness and encouragement, it would not have been possible to gain such a clear understanding of the realities of economics and education in Laos.

This program not only enriched my knowledge but also inspired me to think more deeply about international development issues. The warm hospitality and valuable discussions I experienced in Laos left a strong impression on me and will stay with me for a long time. I believe the lessons I learned during this one-month program will continue to influence my future studies and career path.
