Ms. KABAYA Sonoko

In the second year of my doctoral program, I stayed in Thailand for four months doing field surveys and engaging in discussions with joint researchers. I attended all classes with other students in Thailand and studied hard to finish a tremendous amount of homework and take many tests. I stayed at teh library until late at night and enjoyed having a meaningful time with friends helping one another.
I deepend my understanding not only of my specialized field, but also of statistics and research methods. I learned a lot from copetent students who gathered from Southeast Asian coutries, and we all mproved our skills as researchers together by being mutually inspired.
On weekends, I visited sightseeing spots to feel the culture and histry of Thailand firsthand.
After returning to Japan, I sometimes have online discussions with my friends and teachers. I believe that the people that I could meet through this program will be a special treasure for my future academic life.
