CAMPUS ASIA Student Seminar 2014: "What Have We Achieved in Kobe?"

The Kobe University CAMPUS Asia Program organized the second annual seminar, which was held in the main conference room at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS) on July 30th. Bringing together students who studied at Kobe University as a part of the double degree / exchange program, this event provided an opportunity for participants, including Kobe University students who will study at Fudan University and Korea University this fall, to share their research and experiences of life in Kobe.
After the opening remarks by Professor Hiroyuki Tosa, Dean of GSICS, the following seven students gave oral presentations.

  • KIM Haeyeon (Korea University)
  • PARK Minki (Korea University)
  • SEO Yoori (Korea University)

In response to each presentation given by the students, detailed comments were given by the academic advisors, Professor Hiroshi Ohta, Professor Kan Kimura, and Associate Professor Shohei Beniya. Frank discussion followed after that, including questions from other students who participated in the seminar. Further discussion revolved around issues of interest to those who will attend Fudan University and Korea University from this fall, such as differences in academic culture among the three universities and in lifestyle among the three countries. These wide-ranging discussions strengthened the ties between the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean students in the double degree / exchange program. The students will see each other again this fall in Fudan and Korea.
At the end of the seminar, Professor Ohta and Associate Professor Beniya praised the efforts of the students, who had studied in Kobe for six months or one year.
