研究の興味

　緑色のクロロフィルは太陽の光と生き物を結び、物質循環とエネルギー代謝を駆動する鍵となる色素です。しかし海の中を覗いてみると、陸上の緑色の光合成生態系とは異なる、色彩豊かな世界が広がっています。クロロフィルは水から電子とプロトンと酸素を生み出すために欠かせませんが、海の中では赤色・橙色・青色などのアンテナ色素が主役となって、クロロフィルの働きを助けています。また、海の動物の世界にも、視覚情報・体色発現・生物発光など、変化に富んだ光と色への適応や進化が見られます。臨海実験所（淡路島）の近くや遠くの海で日々繰り広げられている、光と色に対する生き物の様々な取り組みを理解していきたいと考えています。

• 藻類の光合成システムの機能と構造の柔軟性と最適化
• 海産無脊椎動物と植物に共生する藍藻の光生理生態
• GFP様タンパク質の生理機能の多様性
